zolton.org v3.0 Is Coming Posted by mark on February 09, 2005
| |
|
| zolton.org has remained in its present state for over three years. That is all about to change in the coming months as I transition the site over to a proper blog package. You can check out the new site at its temporary location here. For the time being, the 3.0 version of zolton.org will only house new content. No existing content will be migrated. This version of the site (v2.5) will also remain available if you are interested in getting at old articles or pictures. I will do my best to migrate existing content at a later date. For the time being though, please check out the temporary site for new articles.
Please also note that the temporary site is in a state of flux and will likely receive a face-lift of sorts when I have the time and inclination to design a new theme for it. That was a nice way of saying I don't want to hear shit about the design because it isn't mine and it isn't going to stay that way *grin*.

Wedding DVD and Hardcover Book Planned Posted by mark on January 27, 2005
| |
|
| Something tells me no one checks this site anymore. Oh well, I suppose I should provide more incentive for you. I did want to mention that Lauren and I are in the process of putting together a wedding DVD and book that will be available for purchase on zolton.org. The DVD will feature animated menus, a slide-show of all photographs taken on the wedding day, and possibly a DVD-ROM section containing the raw jpg files for your own use. The book will likely be a linen bound hardcover with 15 to 20 images selected from the pool of 300+ photos taken during the wedding. Tentative pricing is $10.00 for the DVD and $40.00 for the book. I hate to charge for it, but I simply cannot afford to have multiple copies of the books and DVD printed for this price. We will keep you posted as to availability as soon as the project starts.

Forums Shutdown Posted by mark on December 22, 2004

|
| It appears that there is a little bug in the phpBB forum code that allows a worm to deface one's website. Unfortunately, the forums will be shutdown until I get a chance to upgrade the site. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Where are all the damn wedding photos?! Posted by mark on December 20, 2004
| |
|
| Nary and update for a solid month - you'd think we were busy or something *grin*. Just to let you all know that we are in fact alive and well, I'd like to comment on this little thing called wedding pictures. Never fear, they *are* coming. I am awaiting the digital copies of the photos. Once we receive them, Lauren and I will go through the 350+ images and distill them down to our favorites which will appear on the web site. There are some pretty damn good shots in there and some I am sure we don't want you to see. Suffice to say, hold tight - we should have them up sometime after Christmas.

|
| Who knew we were popular enough to get hacked? At 20:30 EST on November 27, 2004, zolton.org was hacked. The main site was replaced with a cute little message from some hacking group. I've contacted our webhost and informed them of the security breach. Damage control is in progress.

| Well folks, Halloween is behind us, the wedding is behind us, and now its time to start thinking about the holidays. You know what that means? It means braving hordes of blood-thirsty undead... er... uh... I mean shoppers as we try to find the perfect gift for our friends and loved ones. So, in the interest of getting an early start on this, please send me your wish lists as soon as you can. Also, please check out my Amazon.com Wishlist. I'm sure you'll find something on there for any budget. Check out those Sony HDTVs *wink* *wink*.
